I kind of memorized it! (As long as I play it slowly.)

At the beginning of this practice session I was despairing over how I could ever memorize a piece that is so boring. It's just the right mix of repetition and noodling to make it really hard to remember.

I tried to blend strategy (looking at the music- what sections are repeated? is there a good way to remember this bowing pattern?) with brute force practicing (as long as the notes are on tune, repeat a small section over and over). And by the end of a one hour practice session, it is somehow memorized. Goes to show that sometimes the most impossible-seeming  tasks are not that hard if I just try it!
